Courseware Smartbuilder

Image
This is going to be my last entry for this course subject. I was assigned with my group to do a courseware using app named smartbuilder. We need to design educational games for primary school students. Before that, im going to share with you what is smartbuilder?  SmartBuilder is an authoring tool that attempts and largely succeeds in balancing ease of use with power. As such, it is not as easy to use as PowerPoint and not as powerful as Flash, but it also is more powerful than PowerPoint by far and is much easier to learn than Flash is. That’s the sign of a tool that is good for the majority of those who will use it. Most users are instructional designers or subject matter experts and are not programmers. They are not entirely comfortable with scripting or programming but also want a lot more flexibility and features than PowerPoint can provide. So my group did an educational courseware entitled vegetables farm. You can try play our game by clicking this link below : https://

POWTOON

Image
This entry im going to share with you guys what is powtoon? PowToon is Web-based animation software that allows you to quickly and easily create animated presentations with your students by manipulating pre-created objects, imported images, provided music and user created voice-overs. PowToon is used by businesses to create engaging, creative presentations that capture attention, and can be similarly used for educational assessment and content delivery. There is a free version available, as well as paid subscription that allows for more features.       Here is my group's video of Powtoon. Hope you guys enjoy ;) https://youtu.be/LILUw7rmmO0

entry 5 - podcast

Image
afiqfkr.madewithopinion.com For this post, Im going to share with you about what is podcast. Each podcast typically has a website where show episodes can be listened to or downloaded for future listening. With downloaded media, you can either listen to it on your computer or take it with you by transferring it to a portable digital media player or using a podcast app on your phone. So, in this way, it’s kind of like a small paperback book. Podcasts can be produced by just about anyone wanting to share and communicate with the world. They are not exclusive to Big Name Media. Because podcast websites usually have ways for listeners to leave comments about each episode, and literally enter into a discussion with other listeners, podcasts are like a community of individuals sharing a common interest. Kind of cool. Together with this I post my very own podcast. Hope you guys enjoy! Till then, just sit back and relax ;) Go to afiqfkr.madewithopinion.com

entry 4 - instructional design courseware

Image
For this entry, Im going to share about what is instructional courseware design. Instructional technology is a systematic way of designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the processes of learning and teaching with specific objectives based on research in human learning and communication. It employs a combination of human and nonhuman resources to bring about more effective instruction. Instructional technology includes aspects of instructional design, product development, interactive learning technologies, multimedia, distance education, and library and information literacy. Each aspect of the field has unique contributions to make to the teaching-learning process.

entry 3 - computer mediated communication and ESL

Image
This week we learned about Computer Mediated Communication and ESL. CMC is an umbrella term which refers to human communication via computers. Temporally, a distinction can be made between synchronous CMC, where interaction takes place in real time, and asynchronous CMC, where participants are not necessarily online simultaneously. There are also advantages to communicating via computer equipment such as personal computers, handheld devices, phones and web cams.  Many people are shy in person, or they are self-conscious about race, height, skin color or other personal characteristics. When communicating through an electronic medium, the users are less self-conscious about physical characteristics and less likely to stereotype others. Therefore, CMC is very crucial in learning.

entry 2 - CALL and search engines

Image
This week we learned about these two topics which are the evolution of CALL and the search engines and online database which I learned during my diploma but this time we learn more detail about CALL. Next, we learned what is search engines.  Basically, a search engine is a software program that searches for sites based on the words that you designate as search terms. Search engines look through their own databases of information in order to find what it is that you are looking for. Search engines automatically create website listings by using spiders that "crawl" web pages, index their information, and optimally follows that site's links to other pages. Spiders return to already-crawled sites on a pretty regular basis in order to check for updates or changes, and everything that these spiders find goes into the search engine database.

entry 1 - introduction to internet technologies

I have started blogging during I was in secondary school. As I begin my university life, I almost forgot on how to write blog Eventually, this subject has taught me how to do my blog and bring back all skills I had before. I finally can recall on how to decorate blog, publish weekly posts and many more.  Technology is very much part of language learning throughout the world at all different levels. We are as likely to find it in the primary sector as much as in adult education. I no longer need to make the case for computers to be provided in education, because computers are there in abundance in all their modern forms. We may see traditional computers in labs, teachers and students walking around with laptops or tablet PCs, and many people will have a mobile phone in their pocket that is capable of doing rather more than the mainframe computers that started computer-assisted language learning in the 1960s. I do recognise that there are many kinds of digital divide, and
